Outreach Envelope: ERD
“Episcopal Relief and Development is the compassionate response of The Episcopal Church to human suffering in the world.” This is the first line of the mission statement of Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) and encompasses the wide range of work that ERD does both in the United States and in over 40 countries around the world. Our contributions to ERD provide a collective response to disaster relief, advocacy, economic assistance, hunger alleviation and anti-poverty programs. Most recently, ERD provided disaster relief for flooding victims in West Virginia, ongoing support of Syrian refugees, and emergency humanitarian aid for refugees from the civil unrest in South Sudan. The outreach envelope collection for August is designated for ERD and we hope you will join in this collective mission.
Basket Collection: APAH Back to School Drive
The Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for 400+ school-age children who live at their affordable housing properties. You can help a student, whose family might not otherwise be able to afford it, arrive at the first day of school with the supplies they need and feel ready to learn. You can bring a new backpack or supplies (particularly glue sticks and binders) to St. Michael’s during the first three weeks of August. Or, you can donate online.
For more information, contact Linda Kelleher or APAH.
