Last year’s Harvest Festival was such a success that we’re going to do it again! Mark your calendars for Sat., Nov.1 from 10 AM to 2 PM. We’ve brought back the favorites like terrific BBQ, the band Malarky, handcrafted items, jewelry, and children’s crafts. But we are also adding some new venues: two new outside vendors with items to help with your holiday shopping and a variation on an old favorite, the White Elephant (Porcupine!).
How can you help? We will need your contributions and assistance. The venues include:
- Archangel Café
- Baked Goods
- Handcrafted Items
- Home Again (gently used “White Elephant” household items — smaller than a bread box!)
- Second Time Around Jewelry
- Book signing by Evelyn Bence
- Children’s crafts
- Kids’ Cake Walk
- Two outside vendors
So start thinking about those scrumptious recipes that you can make to contribute. Go through the old jewelry that’s been pushed to the back of the drawer and not worn for a while. For the modified White Elephant, really more a White Porcupine, we will be looking for donations of small household items, such as blenders or other small appliances/electronics, tablecloths and other dining linens, pots and pans, etc. All donations must be in good condition and working order, and smaller than a bread box! Donations can be delivered to church during the last week of October.
In addition to donations, we will need helpers. We would like to have greeters this year by the outside doors to welcome visitors and provide directions. Each venue will need sales assistants. Start thinking about where you might like to help out for an hour or more and look for signup sheets in the Parish Hall next month. If you have any questions/suggestions, please feel free to contact Helen Hines.
