Pointy, mascot and chief philanthropic enforcer, solicits donations for A-SPAN now through the end of March.

Meet Pointy, mascot and chief philanthropic enforcer for the middle school Sunday School class. You may have noticed him in the parish hall or in the back of the church. Hopefully, he got your attention. Dreamed up by the guys in class and spray-painted to life, Pointy is collecting travel-size toiletries for the clients of A-SPAN, the Arlington Street People’s Assistance Network.

A-SPAN is always in need of these items. From A-SPAN’s Wish List:

  • Deodorant
  • Soap
  • Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Disposable razors
  • Shaving cream
  • Combs & Brushes
  • Mouth wash
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Vaseline
  • Lip balm
  • Body lotion
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Foot powder
  • Band-Aids
  • Pain relievers
  • Multivitamins
  • Cough drops

The guys are particularly interested in collecting the bold items: foot powder, disposable razors, deodorant and shampoo (all travel-size). See also the announcement in Sunday’s bulletin.

The next time you’re out shopping, please pick up a few of these simple essentials and bring them to the church. Donations may be left in the box labeled “Toiletries donations for A-SPAN” at the back of the church. Look for Pointy.
